Sophie Morris is a artist who creates beautifully delicate ceramics. Originally from Perth, Sophie spent some time in Amsterdam studying ceramics at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and is now based in Melbourne.
I’m a big fan of her work and have long been coveting some sweet little pieces she gave to Eko a while back. So I was very excited when she recently had an “Under the mattress sale“, where she sold a number of her beautiful ceramic works online. I picked up a this sweet little cup, tiny bottle, cute little dish and set of three beautiful spoons. Sophie’s work also extends to amazing ceramic jewellery. Most of her pieces are raw polished porcelain, hand-painted with pretty patterns.
The sale is now over but you can still take a look at it here to get an idea of her work…and the really excellent news is that Sophie tells me she’s about to start production on a range with those amazingly creative ladies at Harvest, so hopefully we will be able to pick up some of her pieces through them soon!
Sophie also keeps a lovely blog, thisweekimadedotcom, which is one of my favourite reads and an impressive catalogue of all her fantastic creations. Keep an eye on her blog or on givemakewrap for updates on where you can find Sophie’s work.

I bought one of your bracelets a year ago at the design markets in melbourne. It is still one of my favourite! I look forward to seeing more of your range (esp now I know your name).
