I’m so excited about this! I have been wanting to do this for a while and decided the two weddings coming up were the perfect excuse!
I’ve seen a few examples recently of using photos as wrapping paper and I love the look it creates. I thought floral images would work best so I had a look through my recent photos and chose these four favourite images…
I had them printed at Officeworks to A0 size with a matte finish. When I saw the end result, I was so excited! A0 is huge and I really wasn’t sure how well the images would turn out, but the quality of the print was amazing. In fact, I liked the results so much I almost didn’t want to use them for wrapping, but just put them on the wall as posters instead!
A couple of things to consider when choosing photos are the composition of the image (Is there are lot of white space in the frame? Will the image make sense when it’s blown up? Is there anything lurking in the background of the image that you haven’t noticed before but might look weird when it’s huge?) and the resolution of the photo (if the image isn’t high-res enough it will become pixelated when blown up, or they might just say they can’t do it. These images were only 72dpi but 4MB files).
This is definitely my new favourite wrapping technique and I can’t wait to try out other photos!
Plus, there is just something so fun about an enormously oversized photo, don’t you think? 🙂
looks amazing! those are some very luck newlyweds to be
